Project case study

Value engineering made a new community building viable.

The brief

Newquay Methodist Church needed a new church and flexible community space. The project had to work within the client’s budget while retaining the purpose of a building that could support a wide range of activities and events.

What the project needed

Previous tender prices put the proposed build beyond the available budget. The task was to revisit the design and specification so the client could move forward with a viable project.

Poltair’s approach

We reworked the design and specification through value engineering, bringing the scheme within budget and making the build viable.

Result

A viable build and a flexible community space

Hundreds of thousands of pounds saved against previous tender prices.

The changes saved the client hundreds of thousands of pounds compared with previous tender prices.
